What if my situation changes after I have submitted an application form?

Let us know as soon as possible if anything changes. Remember, if we offer you housing based on incorrect information we may need to withdraw the offer.

How long will it take me to be housed?

This depends on:

  • how many points you have;
  • the areas you want to live in; and
  • how many suitable properties are vacant.

We don’t take account of the length of time you have been on the list, except when two applicants have the same number of points.

How long do you keep my information for?

We keep your details for a year. After this, if we have not housed you we will contact you to see if you want to stay on the list.

Should I also register for housing with local authorities?

As well as applying with Home for You, you should also register with your local authority, as this will improve your chances of being considered for a Home for You property. Contact Bield, Hanover or Trust using the details below to find out more.

You should still submit your application. But you should also contact your local authority as soon as possible to get more advice on your housing options.
